Frances Crow

Sound Artist

Frances Crow is a qualified architect who has worked in practice since 1998. Following her training at Liverpool John Moore’s University and the Bartlett, University College London, she worked for a number of national and international architects, both in London and Berlin.


Between 2002–2007 she worked as a part-time senior lecturer at Plymouth University in the School of Architecture and the i-dat research group. She started her own design practice in 2007, which concentrates on ecological solutions for small-scale projects.


Her approach to the process of design is to work at a multi-sensory, micro scale and this preoccupation is continued through liminal by concentrating on the often-overlooked sense of hearing.

Nathan Jones


Babylon ARTS (operated by ADEC) is an independent arts charity; nationally recognised for providing consistent, sustainable arts development work in Cambridgeshire since 1995. Based in Ely, and working with a committed team of volunteers, Babylon ARTS run Ely cinema, The Babylon Gallery and manage a regular live events programme which includes music, comedy and theatre.


Babylon ARTS founded the Ely Sinfonia, Ely Samba Band and were intrinsic to the establishment of Ely Folk Festival, Eel Day and the Isle of Ely Arts Festival. They offer advice and guidance to art groups, schools and museums and manage and deliver a number of community projects.


Nathan is co-director at Babylon ARTS. He is an experienced project manager, event manager and music practitioner. He has 15 years arts development experience leading community projects and supporting local arts groups. Nathan is a qualified teacher, an accredited trainer for NCFE and an Arts Award adviser trainer.

Kathryn Rowland


Kathryn Rowland developed Sing! ChoirsTM which provides opportunity for people to sing in a choir regardless of their experience. Starting with one choir in 2011 there are now 4 choirs that meet each week with over 250 people in total. 


She is also an expert in Early Years Music delivery and has worked in many early years settings, also working alongside the members of staff to develop their skills. In March 2012 Kathryn received an "Outstanding" from Ofsted for her early years work. Kathryn is currently employed by Essex County Council working on the "Clatter and Natter" initiative, which targets settings with children who need additional support with language development as well as working with the staff to develop their skills in music delivery. 

Kathryn is lead Field of Play: Spirit of Song; an exciting songwriting project to create a new anthem for Mitchams Park. Kathryn works with people from the community to create the anthem.

Zoe Chamberlain

Public Artist & Producer

Trained at Chelsea College of Art to create site specific sculptural work for the built environment, Zoe's practice has evolved across different art forms.


Zoe is driven by her belief in the power of art to connect people and place 

through whatever means necessary. She wrote the original Kickstart Public Art Strategy for the redevelopment of Cambridge City Football Ground 

which includes a range of projects engaging old and new residents in the 

area, as well as supporters of the football club as they look for a new 

permanent home.

James Baker

Illustrator and Animator

James Conan Baker is a freelance Illustrator and Animator from Hitchin, Hertfordshire. He graduated from the Cambridge School of Art in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Illustration & Animation. In 2015, he participated in the Royal Drawing School's Drawing Intensive with a scholarship granted by the same. 

Since graduating, James has been commissioned for a number of animation projects, most notably by the KickstART project and the Cambridge University Museums. He creates work using traditional hand drawn and printmaking methods, focusing particularly on character narrative and storytelling.

Adam & Reeta

Film Makers

Colour Films was an independent digital film production company passionate about engaging audio-visual storytelling and high quality filmmaking. They worked with a variety of businesses and organisations as well as individuals to produce high quality promotional films, event films and corporate videos for companies of any size. Adam Broder and Reeta Varpama of Colour Films created the service | movement | desire film for kickstART.

Diane gained a first Sports Coaching and Physical Education degree from Anglia Ruskin University, being passionate about Sport Science she is currently a PhD student studying blood donation effects on exercise across individuals of varying stature. 


Diane has a worked within the field of exercise since leaving school in a variety of environments from personal training and teaching classes in leisure clubs to lecturing in further education colleges and teaching PE in a local primary school having gained a teaching qualification with Cambridge University. She acted as a consultant for the active landscaping working closely with and advising Zoe Chamberlain, providing guidance on the exercises available to do in Mitchams Park.
